Recently I was introduced to a new online site called Snapvine. This is what I have to say about it:
Google Friend Connect is a new service launched by Google that readily turns your blog or other website into a social networking site. It does this through a series of widgets that allows you to have members join your Google Friend Connect at your site and then be displayed in your sidebar or on the recently released social bar that can be positioned at the top or bottom of your site.
Members to your sites can leave comments if you choose to have the commenting allowed. You may also allow them to post videos through the friend connect comment gadget. The Google Friend Connect application can help make your website traffic go viral.
The first step is to go to http://www.google.com/friendconnect
If you already have a Google account you may sign in using your present account. If you do not have a Google account or you want to create a new one simply click on the button that reads Set up a new site.
If you have not already done so set up a profile in your Google account. Then proceed to follow the instructions to set up a site with Google Friend Connect. In most cases follow the instructions for a regular website, as these include Wordpress blogs. If you are using a blogger/ blogspot based blog then follow those instructions.
Although the instructions will walk you through how to add the codes to your Wordpress blog I prefer using a plugin called Google Friend Connect Integration which can be found at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-friend-connect-integration.
Upload the plugin to your plugins directory of your Wordpress blog and follow the instructions. Then to help publicize your blog go to http://www.friendconnectcentral.com and join. Also request their free course on how to Optimize Google Friend Connect and Friend Connect Central. Add your blog or blogs to their directory.
Then start building your network of friends.
I have Google Friend Connect installed on all of my current Wordpress blogs. I would appreciate you joining each one of them. Here they are:
Opportunity Assistance Home Based Resource Center http://www.opportunityassistance.com
Article Database Article Directory Blog http://www.article-database.com/news/
Your Personal Best http://www.your-personal-best.com
Have fun building your Google Friend Connect networks.

Blogs are often considered one of the top ways to improve your search engine optimization and they should in my opinion remain in this category. Recently, however it has been brought to my attention that a company named Customer Magnetism exists to help webmasters improve their search engine marketing techniques. Pre-qualification of search engine generated leads has proven to be higher than those that come from other forms of conventional advertising.
They provide such services as organic search engine postioning services, link building services and pay-per-click management. The company follows strict search engine guide lines but they also stay current with blogs and forums relating to the industry of search engine marketing. Through marketing research they constantly test sites to prove and disprove various theories and ideas.
The company staff in 1997 started generating incredible results for their clients by moving client websites to the top of the major search engines such as Google and Yahoo. They do this both by sponsored listings and the non-sponsored (free) . Internal optimization, inbound link building, press releases, social networking and other forms of search engine advertising services are the examples of many of the methods that they use to do this.
One of the things that I find greatly interesting is not only can you pay them for these services you can also if you are a do-it-your-self type of person take a one day SEO training class. It is quite expensive but from what I have read
about the company it would be worth it. The cost for the 8 hour class is $995. Subjects taught include Google AdWords, Search Engine Optimization, Analytics & Traffic Generating Strategies and Link Building Strategies (crucial for improved organic rankings).
To summarize the services offered by Customer Magnetism, http://www.customermagnetism.com/ not including the classes, they include search engine positioning, search engine placement services, pay-per-click services, organic optimization services, link building services, and SEO for shopping carts.
This company could after researching them be considered the ultimate company in seo in my opinion. The company will do free research, analysis of your keywords and website and give you a proposal as to what they can do for you and the cost of it.

Twitter has one thing in common with Facebook. That is that people outside of Twitter are developing applications that can be used with it. Here is a little bit of information about one of those applications.
One of these applications is Twellow. Twellow is a search tool and directory for discovering Twitter users. This application could change the way people use the microblogging service.
Twellow was launched by the people behind WebProNews. This great application has indexed more than 300,000 Twitter users and sorted them into categories. Some of these categories are marketing, graphic design and programming but there are many, many others. Each category also contains sub-categories. Twellow also provides RSS feeds for each category and sub-category.
You can browse their directory or you can enter in specific search terms to find people who list certain interests.
Search results are sorted by the number of followers; however, you can also filter the searches by the most recent activity. You can further search within a specific category. Twellow allows you to be proactive about finding new and interesting people to follow, and does a great job of presenting the results.
If you don’t find yourself in the Twellow directory, you can add yourself here.

Mark Joyner and Simpleology just released a new course on blogging. Here is a bit about it using the code they provided for posting.
I’m evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.
It covers:
I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free.

The following is taken from an article I am writing about bringing traffic to your blog.
One way to getting traffic to your blog is to link to blogs with similar content and high Google page ranking. One of the easiest ways to do this is to search Google for blogs with content similar to your own. Once you find them look for blogs with Google PR of at least 3 or higher to link to. The best way to this is to get them to mention you in their blog. The second way to do this is to comment on blog posts with relevant answers on blogs with a dofollow tag. There are many software programs available to help locate these blogs. One of these is called Comment Kahuna and can be downloaded for free at www.commentkahuna.com.

Last week I published a post about www.bustablog.com. One of my readers commented that they were worried and wondering about Google penalizing blogs for duplicate content if the blog owner used www.bustablog.com.
I decided to contact support at www.bustablog.com and see what they had to say about this. Here is their reply:
Keith,
Duplication is not penalized, Google uses its algorithm to determine the original article, which is of course your article. We syndicate our own blogs and have had no problem with Google.
Often users mainly have the benefit of having their articles displayed in our index. In the future we plan to add a related posts feature so that users can browse between blogs more easily.
-BustaBlog Support
For the time being their answer settles the question for me. Many blogs are syndicated through the services of www.bustablog.com and other syndication services. As far as I know this is one of the best ways to get traffic to those blogs.
